Exposing Life Now for Memories Later.
Jessica is passionate about people and the photographic art she creates. Her gift is a remarkable ability to establish a personal relationship with her subjects that allows her camera to capture the real character of the person, not the pose. The result is photographic artistry.
Jessica is an award winning formally trained photographer. She graduated from Guilford College with a degree in Art and a concentration in Photography. While working in London for Reuters International News Service and The London Daily Mail, her photographs were published internationally. Her award winning solo exhibit, “Postcards from London” was purchased by the Marriott Corporation.
She began her professional photography career in Vero Beach, Florida in 2000 and relocated her studio to Richmond in 2002. While establishing herself as a Richmond photographer, Jessica also taught Photography at a local high school. Jessica is an active member of the Virginia Professional Photographer’s Association and donates her services to community organizations. Her style ranges from traditional portraiture to photojournalism, while she specializes in weddings, special events, and portraits of children, families, seniors, and executives.
For Jessica, the art of her photography is built on relationships with people that will span a lifetime. In the process, she will capture the images that are the memories that will pass on to future generations.
The following are unsolicited quotes from satisfied clients.
Children’s Portrait
"I can't begin to tell you how many of my friends and colleagues have gone all soft and mushy over that photo of Joshua. You managed to capture, as no one else has ever done, his sweetness and vulnerability, along with his macho little-boy commitment to being a tough dude." Mary Jackson Lutz September 2003
Professional Colleague
“More than the photography, more than the thoroughly professional approach to her wedding photography, she has something lacking in many photographers that sets her apart. She has rapport with everyone at the wedding. Not just the bride and groom, but the parents, invited guests, and even the banquette managers and staff up and down the coast here in Florida. You only have to meet and speak with Jessica Robertson with her open, honest, warm personality to like her right on the spot. When she speaks to you she makes you feel like you didn't just meet her but you've known her for sometime.” Louis Ciszek, Portraits by Louie, Vero Beach, Florida July 2002
Wedding
"I have visited the photos online several times and each time I see something new. You did an amazing job of capturing the moment and how Kristi and Zach will live their lives together full of fun, laughter, smiles, and much love. You found the easy spirit that makes them who they are, and you captured the love they have for their family, their friends and each other." Karen Borgert Mother of the Bride, June 2003
Special Event and Children
"Just a note to thank you for doing such a great job of immortalizing our kids at camp. You did a phenomenal job this summer. The memories of their experience will stay with them forever and your portraits will help those fond images bubble to the surface. Your strengths as a photographer lie not only in the quality of pictures you took, you were a part of our staff, contributing to the happiness and comfort of all. I enjoyed your help each week and the unassuming way you got the kids to warm-up to the camera. I'll be disappointed if you don't list me as a reference for your future endeavors...as if anyone interested in what you have to offer can't see that you capture beautiful images, are extremely personable and consistently professional. You have a home with us as long as you would like." Kevin Tobin, PASSAGES Adventure Camp, October 27, 2003
Group Portrait - Local Band
"We really wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your photographic services! You did a great job and we had a lot of fun posing for the camera. I will say, for a small framed gal you don’t let anything intimidate you." Beth Justice, Sweet Justice, March 2004

"Thank you very much for not only your hard work, but also for adding your personality to our event. You made our morning much more enjoyable." Don Wiggins Mass Mutual Financial Group, October 2003
